This album is mainly written for people living in the USA who consider themselves to be followers of Jesus. Unfortunately, many of us, including myself, claim to follow Jesus while at the same time supporting different injustices in our world.

I am deeply saddened by what many fundamental and evangelical Christians have become, or maybe what they always were (I was just too young to see it). I can no longer be a part of religious traditions that align with either active or passive racism, that are anti-immigrant, that support police brutality against people of color, that support taking health care away from people who need it, that are anti-LGBTQ, that claim to believe in the sacredness of Scripture while also forgetting many instructions regarding the pursuit of justice/righteousness, and that worship the USA.

Why do fundamental and evangelical Christians often worship the USA? America has never been the greatest nation. It has always been flawed because we have never lived up to the ideas of liberty and justice for all. When will followers of Jesus remember that he peacefully sacrificed his security and life for others? He did this for people of all nations. Americans tend to sacrifice other nations for our own physical and financial security. This is not the way of Jesus. I am also a culprit because I have not only benefited from our country's financial policies, but have also chosen to buy goods over the years made by people in extremely negative working conditions.

I am sorry for ways I have actively or passively participated in violence against any of God's special creation. I want to do better. Will you join me in the fields?
