This album was created out of a response to our current electoral cycle. I am not accusing any candidate of being the actual Antichrist (as several people I knew did to Barak Obama, because he was so "likeable"). However, I do think this presidential election involves a lot of fear mongering regarding the future of the U.S (ironically fear is essentially anti-christ or against Christ). These fear tactics, unfortunately, center around groups of people who have historically experienced oppression and discrimination. I really wonder who Jesus would vote for in this election? I think Jesus would vote for a candidate who is pro-life in the sense of caring for all forms of life before and after birth. Just because a candidate nominates a Supreme Court Justice who is against abortion does not mean that they are actually pro-life. What about immigrants, people in poverty, marginalized groups, people who experience police brutality, and so many more. I advise everyone to carefully consider who and what you are voting for particularly if you are a person of faith. If our vote is cast out of fear, self-preservation, tax breaks, monetary gain, or power, that doesn't seem to be even close to the lifestyle of Jesus.
